A door that is not completely opened or stays open for to long triggers an alarm. It can be connected to esp8266 to control the garage door. Our two car garage has a roller door on the front and back. Building a garage door sensor with an arduino nano.

Tilt switch and ir range sensor. The one on the front of the house is motorised and activated with a remote control. When the beam is broken an led light would turn on and then when the beam gets through the light turns off and i know that the car will clear the garage door. When first installing the project onto your garage door and turning the seeeduino cloud on it will automatically calibrate each sensor to a value of 1000. Where as soon as a person approaches the door at about 2 or 3 feet the door. If you experience any drift away from 1000 for whatever reason simply press the request calibration button and each sensor will be recalibrated back to 1000. So i built the first version of a garage controller.

You cannot see if the front roller door is open from anywhere within our house so the only way to check if it is open is to walk outside. Alarms are sent by sms. Only acceptable commands are processed close when door is open or open when door is closed. Please note that this item not fit to iron door it will decline magnetic of the sensor.
